Potential problems that Wisdom teeth can cause
Wisdom teeth cause problems because most people do not have enough space for them to fit in the mouth. Wisdom teeth can also be unpredictable – they can grow sideways, come out in abnormal direction or become blocked from coming out fully (impacted).
Gum Infection: When an impacted wisdom tooth starts to push through the gums, the gums can become inflamedand/or infection can form around the tooth. This can cause pain, redness, swelling, jaw stiffness, unpleasant taste and a bad breath.
Ulcer: An upper wisdom tooth can grow sideways and cause you to bite the cheek, resulting in a painful ulcer.
Cavity: Wisdom teeth can be very difficult to clean properly as they are so far back. As a result, they are more prone to tooth decay, which can vary from pain when eating sweet food, cold food or constant throbbing pain.
Resorption Cavity: An impacted wisdom tooth can push against the tooth in front of it, causing a hole. This leads to seriously damage to both teeth and can be very painful.
Headache or earache: Can be caused by a wisdom toot that is trying to erupt into the mouth.
Wisdom tooth associated pain will be felt at the back of your mouth and can range from mild to intense. The pain can occur for period of time and clear up, a then re-occur spontaneously.
